Established in 1886, the South West London Choral Society is an amateur choir of about sixty-five members.
During each of three yearly terms, we rehearse and perform a different work, usually in one of Wandsworth’s churches. We sing a variety of choral music and aim to make it enjoyable for performers and audience alike.
Recent concerts have included a performance of Mozart's Requiem as well as music by Hayden and Purcell. In the concerts that we have planned for the next year we will be performing works by Bach, Schubert and Dvořák.
We perform in Europe on a regular basis and have given concerts in Bruges, Lille, Brussels, St Omer and Calais. In Easter 2007 we visited St Omer for a weekend of concerts and our most recent trip was a visit to Ghent in Belgium in the spring of 2009.
We hold a variety of fund-raising and social events during the year, including parties and quiz evenings as well as carol singing engagements.
We are pleased to welcome all voices - soprano, alto, tenor and bass. We do not hold auditions and ask only that you are enthusiastic, committed - and sing in tune.
We meet every Monday at 7.30pm in Balham, South-West London - if you are interested then please follow one of the links below.
